Tumor Necrosis Factor-Related Apoptosis Inducing Ligand (TRAIL) is a member of the TNF ligand family. It can induce apoptosis in a wide range of cancer cells with no toxicity on most normal cells. TRAIL may also play roles in immune responses, autoimmune disorders and AIDS.
FunctionELISA TRAIL can accurately measure picogram quantities of the soluble form of TRAIL in lysates and fluid samples. This FunctionELISA Kit utilizes an AP-conjugated secondary antibody and requires the use of a spectrophotometer.
Figure 1: Time course of TRAIL induction.
Jurkat cells were stimulated with 1 nM TNF-α and harvested at the indicated time points. Whole-cell lysate was assayed by Western blot using TRAIL mAb (top gel) and in a FunctionELISA TRAIL assay (bottom graph). The kit clearly provides more quantitative data than is possible with Western.
