c-Myc is a transcription factor that regulates cell growth and differentiation, glycolysis and apoptosis. Deregulation of c-Myc has been implicated in the origin of diverse human cancers, and may contribute to as much as one-seventh of U.S. cancer deaths. Because of this link between c-Myc and cancer, accurate monitoring of c-Myc in cells, tissues and animals is crucial for many biomedical research and drug development projects. TransAM c-Myc Kits contain an antibody specific for the active form of c-Myc when bound to its target DNA.
