The AKS system contains a variety of database identifiers from external gene and chemical databases. In the detail view, you can explore beyond AKS by viewoing publications trends or by following hyperlinks to external web sites.

Keep current with automated search alerts
Because 1000s of new abstract are added to PubMed weekly, it is almost impossible for any researcher to review them all manually. With the AKS alert system, you create a useful set of query term and forget it. If any of your query term are found in a new abstract, an email notification is sent to you, and the content allows you to launch AKS from within the email to see the found results.

Reading through scores of abstracts and searching for key terms can take ours, But, with AKS v2.1 you can quickly identify the scientific terms with a click of the mouse. Highlighting each bioentity type in a different color can be turned on and off individually, letting you focus on the information you are most interested in.
