Contents:

5 µg of Recombinant CTF1 (NF-1) protein and Dilution Buffer AM1 (20 mM Tris-Cl (pH 8), 20% glycerol, 100 mM KCl, 1 mM DTT and 0.2 mM EDTA). Protein is supplied at 0.5 µg/µl in Dilution Buffer AM1.

Application Notes:

The wild-type CCAAT-box binding protein 1 was expressed in a baculovirus system (499 amino acids, accession number X12492) with an amino terminal polyhistidine tag and purified by an affinity column in combination with FPLC chromatography. The purified recombinant protein is greater than 90% homogeneous and contains no detectable protease, DNase or RNase activity.

Protein Usage:

Recombinant CTF1 is suitable for in vitro transcriptional assays, DNase I protection, gelshift and protein-protein interaction assays. 5-20 ng is sufficient for a gelshift assay in a 20 µl reaction volume; 30-100 ng is sufficient for reconstituted transcription assays and 100 ng is sufficient for protein-protein interaction studies. The molecular weight of the protein is ~62 kDa. NOTE: The presence of Poly [d(I-C)] in buffers may affect protein functionality and should be avoided.

Storage:

Some proteins are supplied lyophilized and some are supplied in solution. Lyophilized proteins can be stored at 4°C, preferably desiccated. Recombinant proteins in solution are temperature sensitive and must be stored at -80°C to prevent degradation. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
