for Histone H3 monomethyl Arg8 antibody (pAb)Background
Histone H3 is one of the core components of the nucleosome, the basic building block of chromatin. Histones are subject to a variety of chemical modifications, including post-translational modifications of the histone proteins and the methylation of cytosine residues in the DNA. Reported histone modifications include acetylation, methylation, phosphorylation, ubiquitylation, glycosylation, ADP-ribosylation, carbonylation and SUMOylation; these modifications play a major role in regulating gene expression. The methylation of histones can occur on two different residues: arginine or lysine. Histone H3 Arg8, methylated by PRMT enzymes, is involved in nuclear-receptor-mediated transcriptional activation.
for Histone H3 monomethyl Arg8 antibody (pAb)Immunogen
This antibody was raised against a peptide containing monomethyl-Arg8 of human histone H3.
for Histone H3 monomethyl Arg8 antibody (pAb)Application Notes
This product has been validated for use in Western blotting (1:500 - 1:2,000 dilution).
for Histone H3 monomethyl Arg8 antibody (pAb)Buffer
Rabbit serum containing 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide.
Histone H3 monomethyl Arg8 pAb tested by Western blot.
HeLa cell nuclear extract (20 µg) probed with Histone H3 monomethyl Arg8 pAb (1:500 dilution).
Histone H3 monomethyl Arg8 pAb tested by dot blot analysis.
Dot blot analysis was used to confirm the specificity of Histone H3 monomethyl Arg8 pAb for monomethyl-arginine 8 of histone H3. Peptides corresponding to the immunogen and related peptides were spotted onto PVDF and probed with Histone H3 monomethyl Arg8 pAb at 1:1,000. The amount of peptide (picomoles) spotted is indicated next to each row.
