for Estrogen Receptor beta antibody (mAb) (Clone CO1531)Background

ERβ (estrogen receptor β) is a ligand-activated transcription factor composed of several domains important for hormone binding, DNA binding and activation of transcription. ERβ localizes to the nucleus where it may form a homodimer or a heterodimer with ER alpha. Estrogen and its receptors are essential for sexual development and reproductive function, but also play a role in other tissues such as bone. Estrogen receptors are also involved in pathological processes including breast cancer, endometrial cancer and osteoporosis.

This Estrogen Receptor beta antibody was raised against a recombinant protein corresponding to amino acids 212-477 of human Estrogen Receptor beta.

for Estrogen Receptor beta antibody (mAb) (Clone CO1531)Application Notes

This Estrogen Receptor beta antibody has been validated for use in Western blotting (4 µg/ml dilution), immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (4 µg/ml dilution), and immunoprecipitation (3 µg per IP). See reference Dan et al for more information on usage of this antibody in Western blot and immunocytochemistry.

See references for more information on the validated applications.

Purified IgG in 70 mM Tris (pH 8), 105 mM NaCl, 32 mM glycine, 0.07 mM EDTA, 30% glycerol, and 0.035% sodium azide.

Bridging Antibody to Improve ChIP, MeDIP and IP

Some isotypes of mouse IgG antibodies do not bind well to protein G-conjugated agarose/magnetic beads, which are commonly used in ChIP, MeDIP and IP experiments. Capture efficiency can be improved by including an anti-mouse IgG bridging antibody because it binds with a strong affinity to both the protein G beads and the mouse IgG antibody. By increasing the affinity of the mouse primary antibody for the protein G bead, the Bridging Antibody for Mouse IgG can help improve the results of all ChIP, MeDIP and IP experiments that use Estrogen Receptor β antibody (mAb).

Compatible Secondary Antibodies

Active Motif has developed a variety of high-quality secondary antibodies for most applications, with anti-rabbit and anti-mouse conjugates to a broad line of high-quality fluorescent molecules, as well as horse radish peroxidase (HRP). Visit our Secondary Antibody Conjugates page to find the perfect secondaries for immunofluorescence experiments with Estrogen Receptor β antibody (mAb).
