for Caspase-7 antibody (mAb)Background
Caspase-7 (CASP7 or apoptosis-related cysteine peptidase 7) is involved in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. The precursor form of Caspase-7 is cleaved by Caspase-3 and Caspase-10, which is activated by cell death stimuli and induces apoptosis. Caspase-7 cleaves and activates sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs) and proteolytically cleaves poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP, see PARP-1 C-terminal and PARP-1 N-terminal antibodies).
for Caspase-7 antibody (mAb)Immunogen
This antibody was raised against a recombinant human Caspase-7 protein.
for Caspase-7 antibody (mAb)Application Notes
This Caspase-7 antibody has been validated for use in Western blotting (1 - 2 µg/ml dilution). For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at room temperature. The addition of 0.1% Tween 20 to all Blotto solutions may also reduce background. Individual optimization may be required.
for Caspase-7 antibody (mAb)Buffer
PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.
Caspase-7 mAb tested by Western blot.
Caspase-7 detection by Western blot. The analysis was performed using Jurkat nuclear extracts and Caspase-7 mAb at dilutions of 2 µg/ml (lane 1) and 0.5 µg/ml (lane 2). This antibody only detects the 35 kDa caspase-7 corresponding to pro-caspase-7 in non-apoptotic Jurkat cells.
for Caspase-7 antibody (mAb)Storage
Antibodies in solution can be stored at -80°C for 2 years. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
