for Livin/ML-IAP antibody (mAb)Background
Livin (ML-IAP or BIRC7) protects against apoptosis induced by TNF or by chemical agents such as adriamycin, etoposide or staurosporine. Suppression of apoptosis is mediated by activation of MAPK8/JNK1, and possibly also MAPK9/JNK2. This activation depends on TAB1 and NR2C2/TAK1. In vitro, Livin (ML-IAP or BIRC7) inhibits Caspase-3 and proteolytic activation of pro-Caspase-9. Isoform 1 of Livin (ML-IAP or BIRC7) blocks staurosporine-induced apoptosis, while isoform 2 blocks etoposide-induced apoptosis.
for Livin/ML-IAP antibody (mAb)Immunogen
This antibody was raised against a GST-fusion protein corresponding to human Livin/ML-IAP.
for Livin/ML-IAP antibody (mAb)Application Notes
This Livin/ML-IAP antibody has been validated for use in Western blotting (1 - 2 µg/ml dilution). For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at room temperature. The addition of 0.1% Tween 20 to all Blotto solutions may also reduce background. Individual optimization may be required.
for Livin/ML-IAP antibody (mAb)Buffer
PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.
for Livin/ML-IAP antibody (mAb)Positive Control
Extracts from cells transfected with human Livin cDNA can be used as a positive control for Livin/ML-IAP antibody.
Livin/ML-IAP mAb tested by Western blot.
Livin detection by Western blot. The detection of Livin was performed using extract from a cell that had been transfected with human Livin cDNA. A protein of 31 kDa was detected using Livin/ML-IAP mAb at a 2 µg/ml dilution.
for Livin/ML-IAP antibody (mAb)Storage
Antibodies in solution can be stored at -80°C for 2 years. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
for Livin/ML-IAP antibody (mAb)Guarantee
