for DAP-5 antibody (mAb)Background
DAP-5 (eIF4G2 or eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4 gamma 2) shares similarity with the C-terminal region of eIF4G, which contains the binding sites for eIF4A and eIF3. eIF4G, in addition, contains a binding site for eIF4E at the N-terminus. Unlike eIF4G, which supports cap-dependent and independent translation, this gene product functions as a general repressor of translation by forming translationally inactive complexes. In vitro and in vivo studies indicate that translation of this mRNA initiates exclusively at a non-AUG (GUG) codon. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms of this gene have been described. DAP-5 appears to play a role in the switch from cap-dependent to IRES-mediated translation during mitosis, apoptosis and viral infection.
for DAP-5 antibody (mAb)Immunogen
This antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues 796-812 of human DAP-5.
for DAP-5 antibody (mAb)Application Notes
This DAP-5 antibody has been validated for use in Western blotting (1 - 2 µg/ml dilution). For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at room temperature. The addition of 0.1% Tween 20 to all Blotto solutions may also reduce background. Individual optimization may be required.
for DAP-5 antibody (mAb)Buffer
PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.
DAP-5 mAb tested by Western blot.
DAP-5 detection by Western blot. The analysis was performed using 15 µg of Jurkat whole-cell extract and the DAP-5 mAb at a 1 µg/ml dilution.
for DAP-5 antibody (mAb)Storage
Antibodies in solution can be stored at -80°C for 2 years. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
