for AIRE antibody (pAb)Background
AIRE (Autoimmune regulator, APECED, Autoimmune polyendocrinopathy candidiasis ectodermal dystrophy) is a DNA-binding transcriptional regulator that promotes the expression of tissue-specific self-antigens in the thymus, which is important for self tolerance and the avoidance of autoimmune reactions. AIRE functions as a dimer or as a tetramer and interacts with nucleosomes, selectively interacting with histone H3 unmodified in the N-terminus through its first of two PHD domains. Defects in AIRE are a cause of autoimmune poly-endocrinopathy candidiasis ectodermal dystrophy (APECED) also known as autoimmune polyglandular syndrome type I (APS-1).
for AIRE antibody (pAb)Immunogen
This AIRE antibody was raised against a peptide in the C-terminal region of human AIRE.
for AIRE antibody (pAb)Application Notes
This AIRE antibody has been validated for use in Western blotting (1:500 - 1:1,000 dilution).
for AIRE antibody (pAb)Buffer
Purified IgG in PBS with 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide.
for AIRE antibody (pAb)Positive Control
Active Motif's Hep G2 nuclear extract (Catalog No. 36011) can be used as a positive control for AIRE antibody.
AIRE (pAb) tested by Western blot.
Detection of AIRE by Western blot. The analysis was performed using 30 µg Hep G2 whole-cell extract and AIRE (pAb) at a 1:500 dilution.
for AIRE antibody (pAb)Storage
Antibodies in solution can be stored at -20°C for 2 years. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
