Published Applications:
See references for more information. Individual optimization may be required.

For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at room temperature. The addition of 0.1% Tween 20 to all Blotto solutions may also reduce background. Individual optimization may be required.

This NF-1B2 antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues 402-415 of human NF-1B2.

Purified IgG in PBS with 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.

NF-1B2 (NF-1, Nuclear factor-1) is a ubiquitous 47 kDa dimeric DNA-binding protein whose recognition sequence, TGG(C/A)N(5)GCCAA, is found in the genomes of a number of DNA viruses. The same sequence occurs frequently in the human genome. The NF-1 protein stimulates initiation of adenovirus DNA replication in vitro and is capable of stimulating the transcription of genes in cooperation with other factors, such as the estrogen receptor. The Nuclear factor-1 (NF-1) family of transcription factors are encoded by the genes NF-1A, NF-1B2, NF-1C and NF-1X and feature a highly conserved N-terminal DNA binding region and a variable C-terminal transcriptional activation or repression domain. NF-1 binding controls the expression of many target genes, including insulin, TGF-β, nucleotide, steroid hormone and vitamin synthetic genes, TNFα and FSH. NF-1 transcripts can be differentially spliced and the resultant protein variants homo- and heterodimerize, allowing for multiple potential transcriptional activation and repression activities.

Positive Control

Active Motif's Rat Liver nuclear extract (Catalog No. 36024) can be used as a positive control for NF-1B2 antibody.

Chromatin IP Assays

This antibody has been validated for use in ChIP and/or ChIP-Seq, and can be used with Active Motif's ChIP-IT® High Sensitivity Kit or our magnetic bead-based ChIP-IT® Express Kits. For an overview of all of our ChIP products, please visit our Chromatin IP Page to learn about ChIP products designed for use with NF-1B2 antibody (pAb).

Compatible Secondary Antibodies

Active Motif has developed a variety of high-quality secondary antibodies for most applications, with anti-rabbit and anti-mouse conjugates to a broad line of high-quality fluorescent molecules, as well as horse radish peroxidase (HRP). Visit our Secondary Antibody Conjugates page to find the perfect secondaries for immunofluorescence experiments with NF-1B2 antibody (pAb).

Some products may be shipped at room temperature. This will not affect their stability or performance. Upon receipt, unconjugated antibodies may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 years. Fluorophore- & enzyme-conjugated antibodies should be stored at 4°C. Fluorophore-conjugated antibodies should be protected from light. Keep reagents on ice when not in storage; to avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, we recommend aliquoting items that will be stored frozen into single-use fractions prior to freezing.

This product is guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt.

This product is for research use only and is not for use in diagnostic procedures.
