Applications
Application Notes
Applications Validated by Active Motif:
IP: 5 µg per IP
WB: 0.5 - 2 µg/ml dilution
The addition of 0.05% Tween 20 in the blocking buffer and primary antibody incubation buffer is recommended to aid in detection by Western blot. Individual optimization may be required.
Immunogen
This NonO antibody was raised against a peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human NonO.
Buffer
Purified IgG in PBS with 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.
Background
NonO (non-POU domain containing, octamer-binding, p54(nrb), NRB54, NMT55) is a DNA- and RNA binding protein, involved in several nuclear processes. Binds the conventional octamer sequence in double-stranded DNA. Also binds single-stranded DNA and RNA at a site independent of the duplex site. This gene also encodes an RNA-binding protein which plays various roles in the nucleus, including transcriptional regulation and RNA splicing. A rearrangement between this gene and the transcription factor E3 gene has been observed in papillary renal cell carcinoma.
Positive Control
Active Motif's HeLa whole-cell extract (Catalog No. 40050) can be used as a positive control for NonO antibody.
