Purified IgG in PBS with 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.

 

TNF antibody (mAb) tested by ELISA.
Recombinant TNF protein or a negative control protein was conjugated to Luminex® microspheres and then incubated in the same well with a serial dilution of TNF antibody (mAb).  Biotinylated anti-mouse IgG followed by Streptavidin-PE was used to detect the bound TNF antibody . Mean Fluorescence Intensity (MFI) for each protein was measured in a Luminex® 200™.

Background

TNF (Tumor Necrosis Factor) is a cytokine that binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and can induce cell death of certain tumor cell lines. It is potent pyrogen causing fever by direct action or by stimulation of interleukin-1 secretion and is implicated in the induction of cachexia, Under certain conditions it can stimulate cell proliferation and induce cell differentiation.
