Background for Aurora B antibody (pAb):
Aurora B (
Aurora Kinase B,
AurB,
ARK2) is a Ser/Thr kinase that is part of the chromosomal passenger complex that associates with chromosomes and is an important regulator of mitosis and meiosis.
Aurora B becomes concentrated at the centromere during the onset of mitosis, but relocates to the spindle midzone during anaphase.
Aurora B phosphorylates a number of substrates, including
INCENP, CENP-A, and
Histone H3. Misregulation of
Aurora B activity can lead to chromosome instability and is implicated in a number of cancers.
Immunogen for Aurora B antibody (pAb):
This antibody was raised against a peptide including the C-terminus of human Aurora B.
Application Notes for Aurora B antibody (pAb):
This Aurora B antibody has been validated for use in Western blotting (1:500 - 1:5,000 dilution) and immunofluorescence (1:200 - 1:1,000 dilution).
Buffer:
Rabbit serum containing 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide.
Positive Control:
Active Motif's
HeLa nuclear extract (Catalog No. 36010) can be used as a positive control for Aurora B antibody.
Compatible Secondary Antibodies:
Active Motif has developed a variety of high-quality secondary antibodies for most applications, with anti-rabbit and anti-mouse conjugates to a broad line of high-quality fluorescent molecules, as well as horse radish peroxidase (HRP). Visit our Secondary Antibody Conjugates page to find the perfect secondaries for your experiments.
