Histone Purification

Now you can easily purify histones and further separate the fractions of core histones from any cell culture or tissue sample while maintaining post-translational modifications like acetylation, methylation and phosphorylation. Active Motif offers two kits using proprietary purification technology for you to choose from.

  • The Histone Purification Kit enables you to isolate core histones from any cell culture or tissue sample. The core histones may be purified using the convenient spin column format as one total population containing H2A, H2B, H3 and H4, or further purified into separate fractions of H2A/H2B dimers and H3/H4 tetramers with the efficient gravity flow protocol.
  • The Histone Purification Mini Kit offers the same proprietary purification protocol as the original Histone Purification Kit, but uses a more convenient spin column-based format designed to process smaller samples. This kit allows for purification of the core histones as one total population but, unlike the original kit, cannot be used to separate them into discrete H2A/H2B and H3/H4 fractions.
  • The Histone Purification Microplate Kit offers the same proprietary purification protocol as the original Histone Purification Kit, but uses a microplate spin column-based format designed for high throughput processing of small sample volumes. This kit is ideal for researchers seeking a method to readily transition their samples to downstream high throughput applications or screening assays. Similar to the Mini Kit, the Histone Purification Microplate Kit purifies core histones as one total (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4) population.
