Background

RARA (Retinoic Acid Receptor Alpha) is a ligand-dependent nuclear receptor and transcription factor that plays a central role in mediating the effects of retinoic acid, a critical derivative of vitamin A. It regulates gene networks essential for cell growth, differentiation, embryonic development, and apoptosis. As a master regulator of myeloid cell differentiation, its function is frequently disrupted in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) through chromosomal translocations, most commonly forming the PML-RARA oncoprotein. Therefore, RARA is not only a key developmental regulator but also a critical therapeutic target, with all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) serving as a paradigm for targeted differentiation therapy in cancer.

Storage

Recombinant proteins in solution are temperature sensitive and must be stored at -80°C to prevent degradation. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
