Chromatin Club - Campus Germany Seminar Series

Chromatin Club - Campus Germany

The Chromatin Club Campus Germany (CCCG) was founded by Matthias Spiller-Becker (Active Motif Europe, Waterloo, Belgium) in response to the great reception of previous local Chromatin Clubs Cologne and Marburg, as well as an increasing demand for related networking opportunities within the Germany-based chromatin research community. This regular scientific event aims to connect chromatin researchers within Germany and beyond, promote scientific exchange, and facilitate networking between students, postdocs, and PIs. The CCCG is supported by various academic co-hosts who will moderate the sessions together with colleagues from the Active Motif team.

Concept and outlook: The scientific focus of the CCCG is broad, and we intend to bridge basic, applied, and translational epigenetics research. In each event, we will host multiple speakers for an afternoon to discuss epigenetics in ageing, cancer, immunology, metabolism, and related fields. We specifically encourage researchers on all career levels to join and present their work: students and postdocs are very welcome! If you are interested in giving a talk at one of the upcoming CCCG meetings, please contact Matthias Spiller-Becker at spiller@activemotif.com by stating your general interest (submission of an abstract is not required).

The CCCG is open to all researchers within Germany, but we are equally inviting international colleagues to join the audience or participate with a talk. Future in-person CCCG meetings will take place at various research locations in Germany, but we also aim to offer hybrid-meetings (where possible) which will enable international speakers (and audience attendance) in a straightforward, environment-friendly, and sustainable manner. Social events e. g. “meet the speakers” or “coffee hours” will take place after the talks are concluded (virtual & in-person).

Active Motif is supporting an open-minded and inclusive society: all are welcome!

Attendance is free of charge, but registration is required.
