Background

GLI1 (Zinc finger protein GLI1) acts as a transcriptional activator. Binds to the DNA consensus sequence 5’-GACCACCCA-3’. Regulates the transcription of specific genes during normal development. Plays a role in craniofacial development and digital development, as well as development of the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract. Mediates SHH signaling. Plays a role in cell proliferation and differentiation via its role in SHH signaling.

Application Notes

This product was manufactured as described in Protein Details. Where possible, Active Motif has developed functional or activity assays for recombinant proteins. Additional characterization such as enzyme kinetic activity assays, inhibitor screening or other biological activity assays may not have been performed for every product. All available data for a given product is shown on the lot-specific Technical Data Sheet.

Protein Details

Recombinant GLI1 protein was expressed in a baculovirus expression system as the full length protein (accession number NP_005260.1) with an C-terminal FLAG tag. The molecular weight of GLI1 is 119.6 kDa.
