Background

DDX3X (ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX3X) is a multifunctional ATP-dependent RNA helicase belonging to the DEAD-box protein family, which is critically involved in numerous aspects of RNA metabolism. Its primary function is to unwind RNA secondary structures, an essential activity that facilitates key processes including transcription, mRNA splicing, nuclear export, translation initiation, and the assembly of stress granules. Furthermore, DDX3X plays vital roles in innate immune signaling pathways by modulating the activity of key kinases and interferon responses. Due to its central role in gene expression and cell growth, mutations in the DDX3X gene are linked to neurodevelopmental disorders and various cancers, highlighting its importance in cellular homeostasis and disease.

Application Notes

This product was manufactured as described in Protein Details. Where possible, Active Motif has developed functional or activity assays for recombinant proteins. Additional characterization such as enzyme kinetic activity assays, inhibitor screening or other biological activity assays may not have been performed for every product. All available data for a given product is shown on the lot-specific Technical Data Sheet.
